The Village Celebrates Female Entrepreneurship & Innovation

STAMFORD, CT — The Village in Stamford recently announced a month-long celebration of female entrepreneurship and innovation, which kicked off on International Day of the Girl (IDG).

An annual and internationally recognized observance on Oct. 11, IDG is a call to action to invest in a future that believes in girls’ agency, leadership, and potential. The Village will host a series of female-forward programming spotlighting female voices, creators and entrepreneurs.

“She Is Rising” — This art exhibition at The Village celebrates female artists and the power of women and girls. The exhibit is in partnership with LiveGirl, a CT-based nonprofit girls leadership organization that provides free-of-charge transformative leadership development, mentoring, and career readiness (ages 10-24). Greenwich resident and founder Brooke Shepard had a passion for monograms from a young age, having always adored her grandmother’s customized linens. Drawing on her background in fashion, Brooke launched Monogram Mary in 2016. The brand’s “hat of summer” was recently named to Oprah Winfrey’s esteemed “O-List.”
